Botox for crow’s feet wrinkles
Botox for lines around the eyes (Crow’s feet wrinkles)
Crow’s feet wrinkles or ‘laughter lines’ are a result of movement of the muscles around the eyes from facial expressions. The lines can be quite an endearing feature and can give character to the face. However, we lose collagen and elastin in the skin over time and in combination with sun damage the can lines can appear deeper and longer which ages the face.
When does Botox come Into Play?
The application of Botox or Botulinum toxin in very small amounts relaxes the muscles in the area and smoothes out the appearance of the wrinkles. The results can be seen two weeks after the treatment. The application is done very slowly starting with low doses and adjusting as required. This means that the treatment can have very natural results and it will not be obvious to anyone that you have had any treatment.
How long will the result last?
The results last about 3-4 months after which a reapplication is required. Over time the results will last longer and the treatment may need to be done less frequently.
The most obvious form of prevention is to stay out of the sun as much as possible and of course wear protective clothing and use sunscreen during times when you will be in the sun. Don’t forget that the sun can still be damaging even if it is behind the clouds and you are in the water or in an automobile. Certain hairstyles will help protect parts of your face better than others. You can also wear hats and apply SPF 15 to your face and neck frequently.
Women who wear makeup should go through a skincare regimen before applying makeup in the morning and should use the same regimen in the evening to remove the makeup (especially the eye makeup) before bed.
